Goldville Kennels

James Budd, aged 39 and already a widower, was owner of this property and head of household in 1851. He lived with his two young sons and an elderly houskeeper in this timber framed 17th century house. The house had a newer wing added to the west and the whole later acquired the name Goldville Kennels. It was on the corner of what was then called Budd's Lane and later became Allan's Lane.

James Budd was a market gardener, selling produce from his house including meat. He owned 7 acres of land at the back of the house. The house was demolished in the 1960's to make way for new housing.
