Sharpes Cottages

In 1851 one of these cottages was lived in by Joseph Ivans the village wheelwright with his wife Rebecca and his two young daughters. Another was lived in by Richard Green and another by Moses Cowley, both agricultural labourers.

These houses are typical of the housing for poorer people. The two in the foreground are made of cob, thick mud walls that if kept dry will last for two hundred years.
