Home page Clifton Local History Group has been studying the history of the village since 1981. At present there are 21 members of the group and we would like some more to join. We collect historical data about the parish, research matters of interest to members and publish our results. Press the story button on the left for more about the village. Click on the programme button to see what's on. We have booklets on the village available for purchase. The cost of most of our publications covers production only, some of the bigger books have a royalty added. Click on the books button to see what's available. If you want to order a book please complete the order form, print it off and send it to the address given on the form. We are open to requests for help from anyone researching local history, use the contact us button for more information. Please make contact during reasonable hours. We only charge for expenses incurred. We have material on the local 'nobility', for example the Bridgeman family (Earl of Bradford) Townsend, Benn and Muntz. We also have a lot of material on the commoners. We have an extensive picture library that can be inspected by arrangement. Ask us if you think we can help, if we can't we might know someone who can!
